Understanding The All New Call To Action Button On Facebook

By Raza Isa

Facebook has a new feature intended to boost post click throughs. In only a few steps you will be able to add "call to action" buttons to your Facebook page. So far, testing indicates this will improve number of clicks. For example, you might post a notice about a webinar or newsletter and include a call to action. Facebook advertisers can also use call to action buttons.

One challenge to using the call to action buttons for advertising is that you have to install Facebook's Power Editor advertising tool. If you are very familiar with Facebook, you probably already know how to do that. You have to have Google Chrome to use the Power Editor. You can also find some instructions about Power Editor at the Google Chrome download site.

Once you have installed the Google Chrome browser and the power editor, you will see your Facebook page and a list of any other pages you manage on the left hand side of the screen. Now you can begin creating your advertisement, message or post.

Follow these simple instructions to empower your posts with a call to action! Create your headline and text. Add photos and links. Now you can create a call to action. Select whether or not the post is an advertisement. The choices are offered in the lower portion of your screen.

Once you have completed these tasks, preview your work to be sure it is exactly what you want. You can now publish your post immediately or schedule it to be posted at a later date. You will see a green upload button in the upper portion of the page. Click this to complete your work. This little change in Facebook adds a lot of functionality and makes Facebook an even more powerful tool for getting your message out and eliciting positive and measurable results.
