Why Most Multi Level Marketing Programs Do Not Work

By Russell Howe

If you are one of the many individuals around the world who is trying to make money online, it is highly likely that you have already encountered multi-level marketing opportunities on your journey. Today, we shall take a look it is very rare for a company in this industry to succeed long-term.

Almost everybody with a broadband connection has looked into methods of earning an online income. Sadly, though, while most home business opportunities like to show you big figures and promise easy results, they don't like to show you the fact that most affiliates don't make a single thing.

Before you align yourself with any online business, you need to know it is built to last. Over 85% of MLM companies fail to last their first year, so we are going to show you the two main reasons which cause this frequent failure to happen.

Before we look into that, it is important to recognize that not all companies fail. There are some great opportunities out there, and there are many people who have built solid incomes online in their spare time. []

From time to time opportunities such as Mary Kay, Avon and Empower Network stand out in this industry but most others cannot reach the level of success enjoyed by the small majority.

There are two overwhelming factors which come into play here.

* Lackluster products and services.

* The presentation often talks far too much about the affiliate plan and too little about the service itself.

If you were to write a short list of the things you would need to put in place to create a successful business opportunity, it is highly likely that the two items on the list above would be among the first things you sorted out. But, oddly, these are problems which keep on happening in this particular niche.

Without a doubt, the biggest problem is caused by the lack of interest MLM companies place in their products and services. You will often find opportunities which have powerful, lucrative affiliate plans but it is almost impossible to build a long-term income with them because they do not provide anything of value.

Some of the programs which do not stand the test of time actually have fantastic affiliate programs attached to them but, as a result of not paying attention to their product range, they simply cannot stay in business long-term.

Furthermore, there is a common tendency for multi-level marketing companies to present themselves as instant solutions to financial problems. You can't become your own boss without hard work and determination, but you will find countless new online opportunities that will tell you otherwise. Usually MLM opportunities announce themselves with a pre-launch phase.

If a company puts itself into pre-launch it is basically trying to allow people to join for free before it goes live, allowing it to build a bigger email list in the process. Pre-launches are normally marketed with misleading slogans like 'Join before the masses' and they attract people who are looking to earn an income without putting in any effort of their own. As a result, when the company finally launches most people instantly drop out.

Many people only want to make money online if it is easy. However, until you are able to face up to the responsibilities of working for yourself you won't be able to take advantage of any opportunity. There is money to be made regardless of whether your prospective opportunity is MLM, affiliate marketing or network marketing, but in order to achieve it you need to drop any expectations of an easy life.
