Social Sites That Are Threat To Google Today

By Abraham Joseph

It is possible that Google may be worried about certain social networks that have taken a world by storm in the last few years. Google used to reign supreme in regard to their ability to command the most people visiting their website to search for information, and also was the primary place that most people used PPC advertising.

Both Facebook and Twitter make it easy to follow the latest news. Twitter displays current trends in a sidebar, and Facebook also displays subjects that are currently trending. If a big piece of news hits, users will see it without ever looking for it.

Advertising used to be limited to having someone clicke on your link, and based upon the offer that was there, they would either buy your product or service, or leave. You could also set up a squeeze page in an attempt to capture their email address to market to them later, but this was also a matter of whether or not they signed up, were simply left after going through your advertisement. With social marketing, the game is changed.

When you log into Twitter, you simply tweet what you want to say. When you log into Facebook, you can add something to your newsfeed right away. However, when you go to Google, you are conditioned to only think about finding information. Having to login to your account, and then find your way to Google Plus adds a couple extra steps, making it less easy to use.

Plus, the Google Plus platform is clunky and hard to understand in comparison to how easy Facebook and Twitter are to use. That is why Google will continue to lose its foothold in social media circles, and the other companies will continue to thrive.
