How Facebook Apps Can Improve Your Marketing Efforts

By Adam Roell

Chances are you like the way your Facebook profile looks on your laptop at home. But you may not be crazy about the way it looks on your iPhone or Android device. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the reason: The smaller screen is not large enough to display your entire Facebook page. No wonder so many developers started working on apps which are designed to allow users to browse Facebook on hand held devices.

Without being too technical, these earlier developers simply went in and broke down the Facebook site into small sections. Each section then displays nicely on the smaller screen. Next they made it simple to do a quick swipe in order to take you from one section to the next.

1. Make It User Friendly - If you want to create a successful Facebook App, you need to make it user friendly. It should work on multiple devices whether it is a labtop, MacBook, ipad or any mobile devices. It should work on both Windows and Mac. 2. Keep It Simple Stupid -Don't try to create the most complicated App in the world. It is probably not going to work. You are probably going to spend too much time and money creating an App that nobody know how to use. In order words, try to keep it simple stupid. K.I.S.S is the way to go.

The most successful Facebook Apps are usually created by following a simple concept. It is usually a good idea to create a Facebook App that only has several functions. Don't try to create an App that does everything under the sun.

3. Copy What Already Work And Do It Better If you can come up with new ideas that work, good for you! But more often than not, when it comes to creating Facebook Apps, it is usually better to copy what already work and do it better. By doing so, you minimize the risk of failure.

Marketing your business with Facebook Apps will allow you to take your business directly to your customers, instead of having to wait for them to come to you. So building your exciting fan page is just the beginning of your true marketing potential on this social media site. Once you get Facebook fans visiting your page you can then interact with them and create a buzz about the amazing services and products that your business offers, perhaps getting your online visitors to share your promotions to their family and friends through word of mouth.
