Information About Channel Letters Philadelphia

By Dominique Martin

Channel lettering is among the most lovely forms of lettering used for not just interior but also outdoor advertising. It is a very cost efficient technique that is emerging as the solution of branding for most entrepreneurs that are conscious of the company image. They are eye catching and are three dimensionally cut from letters and figures. They can be fixed to walls or various other structures. When considering using channel letters Philadelphia residents should know their various benefits.

They are found in different trim colors, and are also found in various styles. The latest designs are resistant to flames or arching. The moment they have been mounted on walls or other structures, there are no maintenance requirements, which makes them very cost effective. The installation process is also very easy, plus one has a wide range of letters they can choose from.

The types of the letters are different, with the standard versions being the most common. These are designed from u-channel base that have colored Plexiglas faces. There are the reverse letters with metal faces and clear backing made of plastic. They are so mounted that they do not touch the walls; they are placed inches away. They are lovely in the dark and create a halo-lit effect. The types with open faces are so called since they do not have to get covered and thus are visible from far.

For purposes of installation, they are either mounted on rectangular boxes known as raceways or individually. Individual mounting gives rise to more appealing lighting. On the downside however, they are not as cheap as raceway mounting. Further, raceway mounting is much cheaper, with the installation being much quicker. This is because the letters are mounted from the company by the manufacturer.

It is only the raceway that is mounted to walls with the letters already fixed. Mounting individual letters would take much more time because it has to be done at the site. This is done a letter at a time. Even though it is a superior choice, mounting each letter at a time is costly. The use of channel letters requires the business people to use services of experienced personnel.

Experienced manufacturers have relevant technical skills, expertise and the relevant experience to do the work professionally. This will ensure that the signage is useful for a long time without having to incur maintenance costs. The lettering is mostly made from aluminum so as to resist rusting and corrosion. Though they have the strength to withstand strong winds and harsh weather, they are also light enough to be put in various parts of the building.

The lettering can be created using channels that hold a series of LED lights or a neon tube. Neon versions have neon tubes created to match the letter. The tubes are filled with gases that glow. The tube is mostly utilized on the front side of the sign, either in a contrasting or complementing color.

The LED channels are created in a similar way. However, they have LED lights and not neon within the channel. They are available in various color combinations and can even be programmed for lighting effects.
