How You Can Benefit From Google's Search Engine Updates

For anyone trying to make a living by Internet Marketing, the term search engine optimization is very familiar. This term, also known as SEO, involves the steps necessary to ensure your website is attractive to the search engines.



Backlinking and proper on-site SEO has long been the backbone of effectively ranking websites online. In the past ranking was as simple as including the right metadata, good headings and throwing a million low-quality links at the site. Recent updates have changed all that, with the Google penalizing sites with low quality or suspicious link building patterns as well as watching for keyword stuffing and spammy content.

Over the years Google recognized these tricks and penalized websites that employed them. Why? Because many of these websites were put up quickly, included poor content and were designed strictly to sell products. You want the to to referred to a reputable site with good information and no hidden agenda. Over the years such websites have come to be known as "authority sites."

Adding a blog to your website and taking the time to add high quality content to your site on a regular bases is a good way to prepare for Google Search engine updates. Being careful not to purchase low quality links from foreign or questionable sites is also an important part of keeping Googles trust and ratings.

As an online marketer or blogger dealing with Google's Search Engine updates can seem daunting. But, if your site is quality content, spam free and has high quality links with a little tweaking and TLC you should be able to maintain your rankings fairly easily. Checking e-marketing blogs is a great way to make sure you know what works.
