What Makes Google Hangouts A Good Alternative To Webinar Software?

By Yusuf Abdi

Choosing the right webinar software is not easy. Instead of testing different software and asking your audience to install new software, why not use Google Hangouts instead?

Of course, the number of participants who can participate is limited, compared to most webinar programs where you can have a moderated meeting with hundreds of people. In webinar meetings of any size, the participation from everybody has to be limited, or you would have a 'hodge podge' of conversation from everybody that wouldn't make sense.

Google Hangouts allows you to have a group discussion thanks to webcams and microphones. Unlike other webinar software, everyone can see each other and jump in the conversation at any time. This should make for some lively conversations and encourage your audience to ask questions. While other software allows you to broadcast a video stream, Google Hangouts is more about having a group discussion. This might not an ideal format if you want to have an online lecture but it could make your webinar a lot more fun and interactive.

Also, the nice thing about Google Hangouts, is that they are free to use, and if they are very easy to set up and use. The cost of some of the webinar software is really getting up in the clouds, especially if you want to hold large conferences.

So, Google hangouts is not going to be able to replace a Webinar Software for your business. You can use it for small scale get togethers with clients and customers, or you can record yourself and a few other experts in an intimate setting. Outside of that you're going to want to find a good, complete webinar software that will be able to handle all of your needs. They are easier to find than you think, so get out there and start looking!
